Hi, guys,

Last Tuesday I was invited to Jaeger-LeCoultre Gala Dinner with CEO Mr. Daniel Riedo.

Here is Mr. Riedo (standing in the center) announces the price increase... No, just kidding! He is giving welcoming speech to the guests.

I was wearing my favorite watch.

And guess what I found among the guests...

The most unexpected encounter: a SEIKO CREDOR Signo GBBD965 40th Anniversary aka "Cherry Blossom". Probably the rarest piece of the evening. It was only produced in limited quantity of 40 pieces to celebrate 40th anniversary of SEIKO CREDOR line (1974-2014).

The case is solid platinum. Both faces of the skeleton movement were decorated by SEIKO Master Engraver, Kiyoshi Terui. Every single engraving on the movement was done in one stroke of chisel. It took intense focus and precision to execute, leaving no room for mistake.

The pale blue ring around the dial is made of blue Mother of Pearl. There are three Sakura (Cherry Blossom) flowers on the dial also made of Mother of Pearl. In japanese culture, Sakura is symbol of the beauty, intensity, and ephemerality of life... and it really lives up to its symbol: It is so beautiful and intense. Picture just doesn't do justice (sorry for my low quality mobile phone picture). This was for the first time I hold a cal. 68 CREDOR skeleton in platinum and I was blown away by the quality.

Thanks for sharing pics from the event. Very cool to see such a rare Seiko Credor. Looks great with the mother of pearl ring around the dial. The movement looks nice. Regards, ED-209

Unfortunately, the back movement still has sticker on it so I didn't take the picture. It's a small and thin watch with a huge presence. Regards, Indera

That's a brand-new piece, just available later in 2014. I'm going to provide a link to a US Grand Seiko dealer who was at the Basel presentation: LINK TO MORE ABOUT CREDOR ENGRAVING Thanks for sharing this great find. You must have sharp eyes to be finding this small watch across a table filled with good food and wine ... Cheers, Cazalea
