Renerod shares his appreciation for the vintage Seiko Diver Ref. 6105-8110, highlighting its robust tool character and unique aesthetic. His post celebrates the enduring charm of this classic diver, from its domed mineral crystal to its distinctive case design.

Ref. 6105-8110. A big chunk of steel. I love it’s vintage look, pristine dial and tool character. The case is different, with a grind like hit on one side. But it adds to the character of the watch.

Being a Seiko lover, I’ve just realized I’ve never posted anything at the Seiko forum, so let’s make it right.

Other detail that I love of this watch is de domed mineral crystal, that under certain lighting seems to be floating or to have a halo.

So here I am sharing one of my favorite watches as a first seiko post.

Have a happy Tuesday!

René

About the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Ref. 6105

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual reference 6105 represents the brand's Bubble Back series from the 1940s. This 32mm timepiece demonstrates Rolex's automatic watchmaking during the decade, featuring the caliber A.10 movement with 42-hour power reserve.

The stainless steel case measures 32mm in diameter and houses an automatic caliber A.10 movement. The watch displays a silver dial beneath an acrylic crystal, framed by a smooth bezel. Water resistance extends to 50 meters, and the timepiece is fitted with a leather strap.

This reference appeals to collectors interested in mid-20th century Rolex automatic watches and those focusing on the Bubble Back series specifically. The 32mm case size and silver dial configuration place this reference within the smaller format offerings of the Oyster Perpetual range from this production period.

They feel indestructible! I don’t know why but this watch makes me think of Godzilla. Maybe the square hour markers “a la” snowflake look like the spines a the back, or maybe it’s Japanese provenance, I don’t know. Haven’t you found it there? Dive safely! Best. René
