Bruno.M1's original post on the SINN U50 sparked a lively discussion among collectors, highlighting the watch's robust engineering and practical appeal. This article delves into why the U50, with its German Submarine Steel case and TEGIMENT technology, continues to resonate with enthusiasts seeking a durable and highly legible tool watch. Readers will gain insights into its wearability, unique features, and overall value, as discussed by the WatchProSite community.

Durability and clear readability in a 41 mm diameter size that is comfortable to wear: you will find these properties in the U50 series.
Visually, the diver’s watch is noticeable for the striking design of its matte-black dial and a display that concentrates on the essentials. When it comes to its features, we also focus consistently on typical SINN characteristics. The case and crown are thus made of high-strength seawater-resistant German Submarine Steel. This type of steel stands out not only for its extremely high strength and exceptional non-magnetic properties but also for its especially high resistance to seawater. We have designed the rotating bezel so that it is captive in the case. As it may experience high levels of stress during use, we have also hardened the surface using TEGIMENT Technology and Black Hard Coating, making it especially scratch-resistant.
These features make it clear that the U50 SDR is perfectly suited to diving use – a fact that has been verified by the classification company DNV GL. DNV GL verifies and certifies pressure resistance to a diving depth of 500 metres (=50 bar) and temperature resistance and functionality in accordance with the European diving equipment standards.
in a minefield and it would come out still ticking... The straps are great value for money (50 Euro's) so you can interchange them and you can remove the bezel for cleaning easily with the small tool provided. Don't go for the butterfly clasp as the standard deployant has a small micro adjust option. IMO its a waste of money going for full Tegimented case - just opt for the standard case that comes with a Tegimented bezel - I'm sure the submarine grade steel on the case will stand up to most thi
I was thinking about the U1 too but somehow I prefer a 41mm above a 44 in this case, the 41 is also a lot slimmer
