Grisar's initial impressions of the Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight (BB58) highlight its understated elegance and exceptional value as a daily wear tool watch. His detailed observations on the matte blue dial and the quality of the Julien Faure strap offer a compelling look at why this reference resonates with collectors seeking both style and practicality. This article explores Grisar's perspective and integrates community insights on the BB58's versatility and appeal.

My first ever Tudor, feels great on wrist and doesn't catch too much attention. The dial is matte painted, thus has much less reflection than the most Rolex sport models. Blue is the elegant grey blue that I'm always fond of. The nato similar strap (from a traditional French manufacture Julien Faure) and buckle are visually handsome and very well executed. Maybe an extra strap from Rubber B will further increase the versatility of wearing. Great price value and great wearing experience.

Once I had a love and it was divine, soon found out I was losing my mind That’s a tune from Blondie - Heart of Glass The steel version is better for daily wear, the silver is just an eye candy for days of less delicate activities. I may just wear this as a daily driver eventually and ding it.

That is the true strap monster. The material will not dent with lug changes.
