Subexplorer recounts a unique horological coincidence experienced during a flight, encountering another passenger wearing the exact same Tudor Black Bay Black with an identical James Bond NATO strap. This personal anecdote sparks a broader discussion within the community about similar watch spotting experiences and the social dynamics of engaging with fellow enthusiasts.
Something horologically curious happened when boarding my plane to NY today.
Entering the plane I observed a guy seated in first class wearing a Tudor Black Bay black exactly like me.
But he also was wearing it with a James Bond Nato exactly like mine! Not in the original leather straps nor the steel bracelet it comes with.
That guy choose exactly the same watch and strap combo like me in same flight!! That’s a Big coincidence in my book!!
Regret I didn’t dare to try a little talk with the guy! Have you ever experienced a watch coincidence like this my friends?
Cheers!!
Abel

... sometimes I feel shy to start a conversation with an stranger. Can’t be sure if he would like it I feel. It was so curious for me to see the very exact watch! Cheers! Abel
When I had my submariner I saw 50 others with the same exact watch!!! Jk that was a little hit at Rolex but nope I never experienced an identicle combo before!!
... so shocking to view!! Lol! I have met other guys with a Sub but with bracelet. Never with the very same watch and very same aftermarket straps. Very curious I felt! Regret not having a chat with the guy! I’m sure he was a watch nut like me! Lol! Cheers! Abel
Specially the thinner case adds charm and vintage look to the package I feel! The Bond Nato should look great on the 58!!
I’m a humble government worker, and many times I have to travel by plane to province. For several reasons, while flying, you have the chance and time to spot watches in other people’s wrists. Some of them really interesting or nice. One time I tried to talk to a person with a Bvlgari Octo Finissimo, and he was so arrogant answering only with monosyllables: yes/no. In other flight/occasion, I noticed the passenger sitting across the aisle staring once and again at my watch. Every time I turned tr
... I guess that living in a Country like mine we are constantly "on guard" against the possibility of having our watch snatched and for this reason always kept out of sight, makes me shy of showing mine or commenting about other' s watch in fear that the foreigner could think I could have bad intentions. By the contrary, I have had many nice experiences in the USA of guys makg comments on my watches or starting conversations regarding watches when they saw me reading a watch magazine for exampl
