The Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight reference 79030N represents a significant offering within the Black Bay collection, distinguished by its more compact case dimensions that echo vintage dive watch proportions. This particular reference is notable for its black dial and bezel, providing a classic aesthetic that appeals to enthusiasts seeking a contemporary watch with historical design cues. It stands as a core model, offering a balanced blend of traditional styling and modern watchmaking.
The watch features a 39mm stainless steel case, paired with a unidirectional rotating bezel. Powering the timepiece is the in-house Tudor Calibre MT5402, a self-winding mechanical movement known for its robust construction and substantial power reserve. The crystal is sapphire, contributing to the watch's durability and legibility. Its construction is designed to meet the demands expected of a contemporary sports watch.
This reference appeals to collectors who appreciate a more restrained case size compared to some other modern dive watches, making it suitable for a wider range of wrist sizes. Its combination of an in-house movement, classic design, and accessible positioning within the market has made it a popular choice among those looking for a versatile and well-engineered mechanical watch. The 79030N is offered on various bracelet and strap options.
Except my Dad's from the late 1950s, which I lost 20 years ago ...
ιγ΅γγε₯½γοΌθ²·γγγγͺ π Cool Tudor! Have been looking at Tudot'r recently too
Great suit you have there!
That is indeed a very nice one. I like mine a lot too, very comfortable and great presence.
I don't know folks. I used to wear a 6538 when I was young (too young) and a 5513 for more than 30 years (apart from less than five years with a 79090). This thing is the combination of all that. It wraps around my wrist as it was made just for it. It is "happy", which means that the peculiar combination of colours is so cheerful. Although it may appear a bit showy (I was scared of it initially), it is as elegant as well as casual, the very essence of old Submariners... Hope I could dive with it
I follow you on IG, and maybe you follow me also. I think it was the Bleu that connected us. Welcome here. Looking forward to you continuing to share what is a great collection. The Tudor, a watch I also really like, wasnβt something I thought you would add to your collection as mostly I see you with watches that are a little more refined (even if they are also βsportsβ watches).
