However, the models are quite special, e.g. the Disco Volante, and the colors as well, a lot of female touch. up until now George Kern had good intuition with model policies at IWC. Not so much at Breitling, but also there he made often good choices. I am curious to see how this works out here!
I truly wish Georges Kern much success with UG. I think it’s important that this brand gets back the spot it deserves. If I were him, I would makes sure all those UG listings on Chrono24 for CHF 500 disappear by just purchasing all that’s out there because it really doesn’t sit with the story he wants to tell. From a pure aesthetic standpoint, they are cool but not overly so. From an enthusiast standpoint, they are unique, but not overly so. From an average buyer standpoint, they are a luxury brand, but not overly so. From a business standpoint, they might sell, but not overly so. I think this marketing for UG from a business standpoint, will prove to be akin to what Bud Light did in the USA a few years ago. Just my two cents here.
