Regrets, big regrets to have passed on this one...

The Doctor dial, the red touches, the patina, and the fact that it is an Universal Genève made me fall in love... A serious collector needs at least one U.G Chrono in the collection.

It has been in the window display of a watch dealer for more than one year. It was love at first sight, and well, you know, not the right time, so I bet on my luck, and told to myself that, one day, I will make an offer.

At the end of 13, 14 months, I went to the dealer and asked him where this Medico Compax, was, as I was ready to buy it...

The answer was cruel... " I just sold it... 15 minutes ago ".

Ok, the price was a bit high, but some 2 or 3 years after, it is not anymore...

The platinum rule? The big Lesson?

Always ask yourself: " What will I regret more? Slightly over pay a watch, or pass on it ".

We should always keep in mind that rule. since then, I never fell on another one like this. I should have never passed on this one.

Best,

Nicolas

If you have money and you deal with rare stuffs. You snooze, you loose I can imagine the regret you feel. May the force be with you my friend...

Sorry you missed this beauty but there's always the next catch which will ease the pain. Best wishes Kev

I\'m convinced in something. You always have a second chance (at least for watches) even if, in this case, it\'ll be difficult to find another one in such good condition. Best wishes Alkiro

it sounds as if your "problem" when you saw the watch the first time was not wether the price was too high, but simply that you could not afford it... you cannot blame yourself for that, can you? Or do you mean that you had the money but decided it was too expensive? There is in my opinion a slight nuance between those 2 situations. You then came back and it was too late... We all need to put a price on our purchases. Personally, I have always tried "within reason" to go for what I love in terms

So, you think you have the time, and when you are ready, it is too late... Here by a small margin. I thought I was smart, and that at the end, the seller will lower his price. I was just wrong, silly wrong. Now, I stick to my platinum rule. When I like a watch, a watch I won't find that easily, I act faster. Best, my dear Z. Nicolas
