Hi All

Thought I would share my latest addition this week which I’m super pleased with. 40mm case, triple calendar in stainless steel that wears extremely comfortably. Manual wind calibre 4400 and the case lines and lugs are simply stunning to my eyes. I’ve added some colour with an Vacheron alligator strap, indigo blue is also incoming.

About the Vacheron Constantin Historiques Ref. 3100V

The Vacheron Constantin Historiques Triple Calendrier 1942, reference 3100V, is a modern reinterpretation that draws inspiration from a historical Vacheron Constantin model from 1942, specifically reference 4240. This contemporary iteration revives the classic triple calendar complication, a hallmark of mid-20th-century watchmaking, within the Historiques collection, which is dedicated to reinterpreting significant designs from the brand's archives. It stands out for its faithful adherence to vintage aesthetics while incorporating modern manufacturing techniques and materials. This reference is notable for its balanced proportions and clear legibility of its calendar indications.

The watch features a 40mm round case crafted from stainless steel, characterized by its distinctive "claw" lugs and a stepped case profile. It houses the manual-winding Vacheron Constantin Calibre 4400 QC, a movement developed and manufactured in-house. This caliber provides a substantial power reserve, ensuring reliable timekeeping and calendar function. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal, allowing for a clear view of the calendar displays and time indications. The construction emphasizes comfort and wearability, consistent with its vintage inspiration.

This reference appeals to collectors who appreciate historical designs and traditional complications, particularly those with an affinity for Vacheron Constantin's heritage. Its stainless steel construction makes it a more accessible entry point for a triple calendar complication from the brand, compared to precious metal variants. The Historiques Triple Calendrier 1942 offers a blend of historical charm and contemporary reliability, making it a significant piece within the brand's current offerings and a strong representation of its commitment to preserving its legacy.
