Benlee338's acquisition of the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time with a black dial marks a significant milestone in his collecting journey, completing his 'Trinity' of haute horology timepieces. His detailed review offers valuable insights into why this reference stands out, particularly for its understated elegance and practical complications. This article delves into benlee338's personal experience, highlighting the watch's unique features and the community's appreciation for his choice.

I have been on a buying spree lately so right after my recent purchase of my reverso, I am please to add my latest incoming, which finally completes the Trinity of haute horology watches in my collection. 😊

Many suggested to go for the blue dial but I simply have too many blue dial watches, and this black dial is very sharp looking as you can see from the pics I posted here.

The Overseas is not "shouty" like an AP Royal Oak / Offshore but it has its own quality, offering discrete, subdue elegance and top of the line finishing expected of a "trinity" brand. This dual time reference also has a very interesting dial, which features 6 highly polished moving hands behind a deep black background, completing the sporty, elegant look. Another interesting feature is the ingenious quick strap change mechanism, which allows me to quickly swap between SS bracelet and the black rubber / leather strap, all included as standard. Both are very comfortable and give the watch a distinctively different look. The refined bracelet is intricately finished, with brushed / polished surfaces over the entire bracelet and is one of the most comfortable watch bracelet I ever worn, quite possibly actually the most comfortable. It just wrap nicely around the wrist.

Vacheron's maltese cross inspired design cues are fully visible on the entire watch right down to the clasp. Finally the icing ln the cake is the Geneva sealed inhouse movement that is beautifully finished. 😘 I think this timepiece is gorgeous, under-rated and a good introduction to the world of VC, with its 265 years of history. My only gripe is the relatively short 2 years warranty, when most major brands are now offering 4/5 years and even Richemont's group own JLC is stepping up to offer 8 years.

The Overseas Dual Time is indeed a great place to start with VC. I for one find a black dial a refreshing change among the sea of ubiquitous blue dials we see these days. The Overseas black dials are quite amazing in person. Until you mentioned it, I had not thought there were as many as 6 hands on the Dual Time's dal. LOL. I find it a well balanced and uncluttered dial, and the second time zone is a very useful complication whether one is traveling in real life or only in one's dreams. Enjoy yo

I think this is one of the best travel watches out there. Love the black dial, too, especially on this version with the red accents. Enjoy! Daniel

The black dial stands out and is my preferred choice over the blue as well. I find the dual time dial very dynamic. Its not boring to look at.
