Vacheron Constantin celebrated their opening of the new ION Boutique with The Sound of Time Exhibition (till 16 November) showcasing various splendid striking watches since year 1812 to 2013.

Below are are snapshots of the exhibition for friends who could not be in Singapore.  For us who are in Singapore, it is definitely a must to drop by the exhibition today or tomorrow to see some spectacular pieces and know the various calibres of Vacheron Constantin.

What this post is lacked of, is the sound of the chime smile .... but could be supplemented with the apps from both IOS and Android platform.  Link to download will be provided later.

Now e-tour ....

The facade of the new boutique at ION Orchard mall on Level 2 ...

The Sound of Time Exhibition at one level below ... also the ground floor of ION Orchard

Entrance to the exhibition ...

Another entrance to the exhibition ...

The QR code to download the app for both IOS and Android platforms ...

Entering the exhibition ...

Showcases of current collections ...

Entering the acoustic booth ...

Starting with the quarter-repeaters since 1812 ...  the description follows after each piece displayed ...

The centre piece, a rotating display featuring the current Patrimony ultra-thin 1731

Now for the stunning minute-repeaters series since year 1923 ...

A showcase by the ECAL- University of Art & Design Lausanne interpreting various components of Calibre 1731 ...

A table-display with magnifiers with polarizer added ....

Some components of Calibre 1731 ...

Animated graphics come alive with the magnifier ...

The gong without the magnifier .... animation is not seen

A giant replica of Calibre 1731 for a closer look ...

Next another showcase of various fine calibres of Vacheron Constantin ...

The full menu ...

By selecting the particular calibre, full technical details will flash out ...and that particular actual calibre will spin ...

On the touch-panel, you could select to view the front or the back of each calibre .... with enlarged details displayed on the screen too ...

It is a very well-done exhibition to display striking watches.  Combining the visual aspects with rich application of multi-media to educate each visitor.
Best to download the app before going to the exhibition, to raise your curiosity smile
After which, just move a floor up and enjoy the new boutique.

definitely better than mine. I attended this exhibition last Sunday and took photos and put a 6-part post on THL. Your photos are much better. Thanks. It truly is a great experience to see this exhibition.

This is a nice set of photos. I especially like the wristwatch repeaters from the mid-20th Century. I remember seeing some of these pieces come up at auction. I guess I know who the winner bidder was! Bill

Thanks so much for the great pictures of those vintage watches, especially the movement shots. Was there a catalog for the exhibit?

And thanks for sharing the QR code for the app. :-) You really captured the exhibition so well for us. You also included my true grail watch in your photo set. So, I sit here at my computer, drooling. Slurp! Best, respo
