His post, featuring a Vacheron Constantin on a vibrant orange strap, invites collectors to consider the evolving landscape of 'smart casual' in horology. This article explores the community's perspective on balancing personal style with professional expectations.

Grey on the outer strap so at first glance it looks all grey and the orange for the short side โฆ evokes a smile every time once it gets noticed !
The conclusion I have come to is that, apart from us watch geeks, no one really cares about what watches or straps are worn, so you may as well wear what you want and have some fun! In the business meetings I go to I see plenty of people with large and/or colourful smart watches and sports watches, so our mechanical watches often look quite restrained by comparison! I bet very few people would comment on that orange strap if you wore it to a meeting. All the best, Jon
Smart casual also entered the watch world. Iโm heading for Japan where rules are a little more important so Iโll restrain from my boldest ideas there. But back in Europe or the US, I am with you all the way. Enjoy your weekend, Jon!
