Friends,

While wearing since yesterday my GP 7000 Chrono, one thing became very clear to me.

Sometimes, we tell ourselves: “ I have too many watches, I don’t need that many watches”, yet we keep buying more. True, sometimes, we sell a watch again, but at least in my case, I usually do not regret afterwards.

What really became clear to me, in order to bond with a watch, to appreciate it even if it is not worn very often, you actually have to own the watch. It needs that unforeseen excitement when you discover details, it requires different times of the day, even different moods that make you see a watch differently. And for that, it really needs to be yours.

Like the GP 7000 Chrono. I don’t “need” more Chronographs, have plenty, but this is a watch that does not reveal its charm at first sight. 80ies design, not from the most exciting period of GP, standard ETA movement, but then there are so many small details you even discover only after months owning it and the feel on the wrist changes when you put it back on after a while.

That’s why, I feel we are collecting watches, and we are obsessed with owning them, because then we can build an emotional bond.

Here is a small pictorial of the GP 7000.
