Dr No, a respected voice within the WatchProSite community, addresses a critical aspect of forum etiquette: the prohibition of 'shilling' or self-promotion. His post serves as a timely reminder, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the community's integrity and ensuring that all contributions are genuine and not driven by personal financial gain. This discussion highlights the delicate balance between sharing passions and upholding ethical community standards.

. . . is not only frowned upon, but disallowed on this site.

Shilling is defined as an action tending to self-promotion, usually surreptitiously but not exclusively.  It has come to my attention that an overt instance of shilling has occurred recently.

To all: sharing posts that are remunerative are not permitted, including posting a watch on a discussion forum and then listing it a short time later on Collectors Market.  Overt advertising of products or services is doubly egregious.

Cordially,

Art

I guessed I missed it. What are we specifically referring to? If you are calling out a behavior let’s fully call it out.
