As these are the complications I use the most. And some watches do both of them...
That's why I bought my FF Bathyscaphe. Simple, tells the time frighteningly accurately, has just the date (which I need in my line of work), and is robust enough to do the activities I do in life. It's also luxurious enough; great finishing and very nice aesthetics. I don't need much more than this, and frankly, after learning about upkeep costs or the possibility of breakage, I'm not interested in high comps.
For one a QP+chrono for sure: The ultimate dream watch would be a Sonata chrono QP
On my wish list I do have more chrono and possible one PC but mostly because these specific reference trigger emotion for me! Great topic BTW!
It can serve a purpose - time, home time, elapsed time and (except for Nico) date, etc It can remind you of something intrinsic about the solar system - moonphase, equation of time, etc The innovation, technology and craftsmanship can impress and delight the eye - like the tourbillon Oh, and it can be beautiful😀
A retrograde jump hour with deadbeat seconds a date window and a GMT chapter Ring should do it 😂
