Hi all,

We discussed last week about the nicest rotor ever made (please see link below). Regarding the success of this thread, I wanted to know your thoughts about another essential part of our beloved tick-tock... the lugs!

www.watchprosite.com

As you know, they are essential as they have a real impact on the overall design of a timepiece, they help to fit the watch on your wrist...

I made a selection but not an exhaustive one of very different lug types (vintage and modern) over the last decades.

What are your favourite ones (among your collection or not)? Which vintage ones would you like to see today?...

Thanks for your comments and inputs.

About the Breguet Tradition Automatique Seconde Rétrograde Ref. 7727

The Rolex Cellini Time reference 7727 is part of the Cellini collection, which represents Rolex's more traditional and dress-oriented timepieces, distinct from its Oyster Perpetual professional and classic lines. This reference focuses on essential timekeeping, presenting hours, minutes, and seconds in a refined and understated manner, aligning with the Cellini's design philosophy of classic horology. It is designed to offer a sophisticated alternative within the brand's offerings, emphasizing elegance over robust utility.

This particular reference features an 18k Everose gold case, measuring 39 mm in diameter. It houses the automatic caliber 3132, a self-winding mechanical movement manufactured by Rolex. The watch is fitted with a domed sapphire crystal, contributing to its classic profile, and offers a water resistance of 50 meters. The movement provides a power reserve of approximately 48 hours, ensuring reliable timekeeping.

The Cellini Time 7727 appeals to collectors seeking a dress watch from Rolex that prioritizes classic aesthetics and horological tradition. Its Everose gold case and clean dial design make it suitable for formal occasions. The Cellini collection, including this reference, offers a different facet of Rolex's manufacturing capabilities, focusing on refined design and traditional watchmaking principles.

Great idea to discuss about lugs offers

Even if your photos present many styles, I am in love with the PP 5975 lugs. My choice and 3 photos to explain why: Photos are better than words sometimes ;-) Cheers, Patrickh

Mmm I could be banal but I would add the twisted lugs of the Speedy(after 105.003).

Best.

Twisted lugs are always nice because you give sensuality to the metal used in my opinion.

Thank you for your input. Best wishes Alkiro

My pleasure!

You posted a stunning selection of lugs. Despite it is a tough choice my favourite are the flame lugs of the 2431... pure class. Best.

I have a preference for the Chopard ones. They are so well thought out in the context of this timepiece. Of course, you can't use them in another context which is the limit. So, the flame lugs are my second choice. They're so lovely

Best wishes Alkiro

Many thanks Patrick for your input

Do you know if there's a specific word for these lovely PP lugs (double stair? That could be nice)? Best wishes Alkiro
