I literally registered to this site eight years ago today, when I noticed the date and my post count I had to write something!

Four months into being registered here I responded to an invite for a GTG and attended my first Purists gathering. It was at the Rainbow Grille in NYC, the restaurant now carries a different name (Bar 65) but here was the view from the 65th floor as we entered the restaurant.............

That night most of the Purist team was in town from California so I got a chance to meet many of them along with nine to ten other people. We all had such a great time that night and to me what makes this site so special is that eight years later I am still in contact with five of those people from that GTG and three of them are among my closest friends.

Over the years that have followed I have made so many great friends through this hobby and this site. The amount of knowledge I've picked up along with the all the good times I have had with the people here are too many to count. Thanks to everyone who contributes to this great site..................Now its on to 2000 posts, hopefully I can get there in less than eight years!

Tony

Thanks Salman........

I always look forward to your posts and photos of your watches. You have owned/own some fantastic pieces over the years. Your mezmeorizing photos of VC's Overseas Chrono years ago helped sell me on that watch. Do you still own that piece? Tony

Like they used to say about dollars . . .

. . . "it's the first million that's tough". Always good to see a fellow Glashütte admirer here, Tony. Best, Art (Btw, Scott D is still a neighbor of mine, at least when he's in California. Florida is where he spends much of the time now.)

Thanks Art.............

I was wondering what Scott was up to. I haven't spoken to him in a long time. After that GTG we used to hang out quite a bit when he lived here in New York. When he moved to CA we lost contact and I never really saw him post here anymore. I know that he was a moderater for a short period of time. In any event tell him I say hello next time you see him. Maybe I will try and track him down online. I was actually thinking of sending a PM to you a few weeks ago regarding a major GO service issue tha
