TheMadDruid chronicles the inaugural official WatchProSite NYC GTG (Get-Together), a gathering that brought together local Purists and a visitor from Los Angeles. The post captures the camaraderie and shared passion for watches, signaling a renewed commitment to regular community events in the region.

Some of us locals, and a visitor from L.A., spent the afternoon keeping dry and warm and out of the snow (okay, Art-you were right) eating, drinking, talking watches and covering a few other topics in depth. I think I can speak for all who were there that it was a terrific time. It now looks like we have a commitment to do this more often in the future, and we will keep the rest of the Community informed about our plans from now on.

By the way: we had 100% attendance except for the Purist who didn't show up. We'll make sure he does next time!

Here are a couple photos of our after-lunch table:

Please excuse the quality of the photos. It had nothing to do with the consumption of alcohol and everything to do with my choice of lens for this event. I hope that by posting 4 photos every watch comes into focus  somewhere. And yes, I would agree with all of you who are thinking this NYC crowd is a bit anal when making displays.

The other PuristS there also have some pictures and I am sure they will share them. Hope you enjoy!

I was hoping to see this from you

thanks Padj! also colloquially should be known as the PuristS NYC/Tristate Local Chapter Head Wrangler. maybe the title is too long? πŸ€” I have only one decent pic to share. Also we all met a nice young Frenchman there and he happened to wear this Tudor below so of course it was a great ice-breaker. And I think he did not think we were a bunch of crazies...πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

Looks like you had a great time .

I see a lot of great watches on the table πŸ‘ŒπŸ». A GTG is a great way to meet watch lovers in person and talk watches and drink a nice glass (or two) πŸ€—

Looks like a blast.

NYC always brings it’s A game. Except the Giants.

What?

I was just saying it looks like a great time. Unlike watching Eli.
