Kong's report from Zenith's Post Basel 2018 event in Singapore provides a direct look at the brand's new offerings and strategic direction under CEO Julien Tornare. The post features hands-on images and initial impressions of key models like the Defy Zero G and Defy Classic, offering valuable insights into Zenith's product innovations and future plans, including potential changes for the El Primero's 50th anniversary.

Early this week, Zenith Singapore presented their key pieces with the presence of Julien Tornare, CEO of Zenith Watches at Como Cuisine Dempsey.

Some snapshots of the luncheon ...

Set up of the luncheon ...

Julien Tornare, CEO of Zenith Watches giving a speech.

Briefly mentioned, he will focus on the innovations in both product offerings and engaging the watch-buyers.  He may even considering redesigning next Basel booth to
make it more inclusive to welcome the visitors.  Perhaps something special for 50th anniversary of El Primero.

Some of the pieces passed around during the event ...

Firstly the star of the show ... The new  44mm titanium case skeletonised 'Defy Zero G' with a gyroscopic “Gravity Control” module.

For the bracelet version, please check out the post by Marcus.

Next the 41mm brushed titanium Defy Classic Deep Blue with automatic Elite 670SK calibre.

It looks better in metal than in photographs.

Wonder if it may look better without the wording 'Defy' ...

With titanium bracelet or ...

Blue rubber straps.

From a more chic look, a skeletonised Defy Classic. At least the word Defy is not on the dial.

PILOT Type 20 Chronograph Ton-Up, tribute to the CafĂ© Racer Spirit.

45mm ages steel case with automatic El Primero 4069 calibre.

PILOT Type 20 Extra Special, 40mm bronze case with automatic Elite 769 calibre.

Lastly, the stunning Pilot Cronometro CP-2 Flybacks ...

For me, I prefer either the Defy Classic Skeleton (wondered why Zenith uses the word 'Classic'' on their web for the skeletonised version) or the CP-2 Flyback Bronze. Thanks for viewing, Cazalea. Kong

The reason might be that Zenith considers a movement which - as far as modern technologies go - only features a silicon escapement as a 'traditional' watch... Thanks for your excellent and superbly photographed report, Kong! Magnus
