Welcome to the 2016 Distinguished Gentleman's Ride, an international charity event for classic and vintage styled motorcycles that raises awareness and funds for the Movember Foundation’s men’s health programmes.

On Sunday September 25th, more than 50,000 dapper riders in over 500 cities across 90 countries will unite for the world’s largest motorcycling charity event upon their classic & vintage styled motorcycles.

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride
One of the world's largest motoring event was founded in 2012 by Mark Hawwa. Inspired by a photo of Mad Men’s Don Draper astride a classic bike and wearing his finest suit. It was decided a themed ride would be a great way to combat the often negative stereotype of men on motorcycles. That first ride brought together over 2,500 riders across 64 cities. The success of the event encouraged the organizers to consider how it could be used to support a worthy cause. And the rest, as they say, is stylish-attired history. In 2015, they had over 40,000+ smartly dressed gentlefolk in over 400+ cities join us in raising over $2,310,000 USD.
In 2016 the goal is to take part in over 550+ cities with over 50,000 participants, aiming to raise $5,000,000 USD for prostate cancer research and mental health programs.

Here are some impressions from last year's event:

(Bratislava, Slovakia)

(Sydney, Australia)

(Lisbon, Portugal)

(Buenos Aires, Argentina)

(Frankfurt, Germany)

(Vancouver, Canada)

(Vienna, Austria)

(Rotterdam, The Netherlands)

Pilot Ton-up DGR Special edition
"Ton-up" refers to a specific biker subculture that originated in the United Kingdom during the 1950s. The goal of the “Ton-up” boys was to reach 100 miles per hour (160 km/h), called simply "the ton" in English slang. “Ton-up” was meaning at that time a motorcycle capable of speeds of a hundred miles per hour or more. Getting at 100 mph was not possible with factory standards motorcycles. The Zenith Pilot Ton-up refers to the performance (100 mph) of the motorcycles, the humans behind those performance and last but not least, the free-spirited breeze that was animating those young rebels to reach it.

Launched at Baselworld 2016, the Pilot Ton-up with its broad 45 mm-diameter aged steel case houses a legendary movement and displays a vintage dial boasting perfect readability. It evokes strong character, originality, freedom and style which is perfectly fitting the spirit of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride.

To celebrate this amazing movement and to help fundraising, Zenith is launching a special edition of its Pilot Ton-Up watch. 5 pieces to award the best fundraisers all around the world.

Find the initiative truly laudable and cool. Sadly, in spite of my father\'s urging (from the age of 6) and me almost writing my PhD on the subject of the viability of the motorcycle industry, I\'ve yet to learn to ride Good on Zenith to get behind such a cool project. As for the watch, the strap is a bit too much for me but otherwise I like it quite a bit
