First of all I want to thank Glashütte Original for the great opportunity to borrow this and Jockes watch for a review on my forum.

Review of Glashütte Original Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date Reference:1-37-02-01-02-30.

The watch I got here is the version with a grey dial and Louisiana Alligator leather strap with fold fastener in steel.
Its from the 20th Cenury Vintage collection.

First time I saw this watch was at the presentation of the news in Glashütte Original both at the Baselworld 2014 and I liked what I saw.
Beacuse when they 3 years earlier present the Seventies Panorama Date at Baselworld 2011 I think that model was realy nice and now when they made same kind of watch with the chronograph and the other funktion I just think, can this be better?

They made the dial in 3 versions blue, silver and grey Ruthenium with sunburst effect.
My personal favorite is the grey one.

Exept normal time display the watch has the Panorama Date, power reserv indicator in the ordinary second hand register, and a 12 hour chronograph with flybackfunktion.
The 12 hour chrono register is a disc under the dial and you can see it via a small aperture at 12 clock.

Here you can see that the power reserve indicator tell you that the mainspring is almost full wound.
It will be black when the mainspringspring in full wound.

none

Panorama Date.

The index and the hands is in white gold.
There is Super-Luminova in the hour and minute hand, and also in the dots on every hour index on the dial.

none

A nice soft-cornered square stainless steel case with size 40x40 mm and 13.50 mm height is perfect for this watch, not smaller or bigger.
The satin brushed case with polished bezel and buttons give the case a elegant look and the crownguards and the screwed crown gives the watch extra protection and its waterproof up to 10 bar.
Sapphire crystal, on both sides anti-reflective.
Bottom: sapphire crystal.

Here is the adjustment for the date and you simple adjust it with the following pin.

The displayback show the new calibre 37-02 (2014)
Its an automatic column wheel chronograph with a power reserve for 70 hours.

Calibre 37 has a new oscillation system that has no regulator on the spring for optimum isochronism.
The movement also have the signature German Glashütte Original swan-neck regulator and 65 jewels.

Some detailed information from Glashütte Original:
Dimensions: Ø 31.6 mm, height 8 mm
Balance: screw balance with 4 adjustment screws gold 14 ct
Oscillating Frequency: 28,800 vph, equivalent to 4 Hz
Power reserve: 70 hours (+/- 5 %)

Additional details:
Automatic movement, central hour/minute, small second, second stop, Panorama Date,

power reserve display, exquisitely finished movement, bevelled/polished edges, polished

Here is some details on the movement and just look at the on/off engraving for the chronograph, really cool!

The Louisiana Alligator leather strap is dark olive-like color and the clasp is signed with Glashütte Original logo.
They have a very comfortable clasp now.
I had an older type of clasp on one of my Glashütte Original and there is a big different IMO.

none

Depending on the light, the strap and the dial changes color slightly.

none

A wristshot, the size is fine for my wrist and I wish that I dont have to send this beauty back!

Ok my friends!
Hope you like my little review as much as I do of the Glashütte Original Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date Reference:1-37-02-01-02-30.

Now I will take a nice cool German beer!
The best of two worlds.
See you!

Great review and pics. Thanks for posting. I\'d love to see the blue dial version too. GO\'s blue dials are lovely. Also, this model has quite a clever layout for all the complications , so remains quite legible even with a the subdials in place

GO I love the shape of this watch and the size is perfect. I have owned Glashutte previously and they make fantastic watches, that said they are keepers with terrible resell so not for those who flip regularly. That said this is a stunning model and a great ...

I've never sold a GO but hear that as well... And I'm perplexed as to why they don't hold their value better. As you say, they make fantastic watches with very beautiful designs. It's hard to understand why they have such terrible resale value. Mine aren't going anywhere so I don't really care, but I...

GO 70s Panorama Date I have the GO 70s Panorama Date rather than the chrono. I can confirm it is a fantastic watch. It shares many characteristics with the chrono. Good points are: the case shape and finishing, the bracelet which is very comfortable, the Panorama date which i...

The Senator Sevienties . . . . . . is a looker . . . . . . that's for sure! I'm very much taken by shaped cases in general, including vintage offerings from other manufacturers (notably Omega and Zenith) that hark back to period Glashütte commemorates with the Seventies, now in its s...

Not really a big fan of "square" watches but this GO is sublime. Thank you for the pics and report  Best wishes Alkiro

I appreciate the aesthetics of the Seventies Chronograph! First off, thank you for the excellent review and superb photography! I like the approach taken to limit the number of subdials to two. How do you feel about the pusher adjustment for the quickset date? Is there a good technical reason to choose this solu...

'Time' - that is another important common denominator uniting both watchmaking and music. It is just only consequent that watch manufacturer Glashütte Original awards the 13th Glashütte Original MusicFestivalAward to Andris Nelsons , conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra (and from 2017 on much closer to the manufacture, as Kapellmeister of the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig ). GO's own communication on the award is found here . During the Dresden Music Festival 2016 , under the motto of 'Time for Music' ...
