It didn't take long before I could finally see the Reverso Tribute Duoface Rose Gold Burgundy Fagliano Limited Edition!

When I went to the Paris Boutique, I had some questions in mind, not about the size, as it is the same than the Tribute Duoface Blue Fagliano unveiled in 2019, so I know it well, but about the true hue of burgundy and the strap... And, of course, the overall feeling this watch provides, which can be confirmed with an experience in real life, only.

Among all the Tribute Duoface, my favorite remains the steel from 2016, because it oozes class and elegance with its so-called " small " case, which is 42, 8 mm x 25 mm big and 9, 15 mm high. This is my favorite dimension for the Tribute Duoface.

For the same reasons, I love the Reverso Tribute Small Seconds Burgundy which I consider as one the best looking Reverso from these last 8 years.

So, what to think about this Tribute Duoface Rose Gold Burgundy Fagliano Limited Edition?

First of all, the combination of the Burgundy dial and the rose gold case is extremely refined AND consistent. At a point which surprised me. I can say it is even more refined than the Steel Burgundy I have the pleasure to see almost everyday on my business partner's wrist.

Even if the smaller case remains my favorite, in reality the case of the Tribute Duoface Rose Gold Burgundy Fagliano Limited Edition doesn't spoil the elegance and the class of this watch. It is not too big, from my point of view, and its dimensions remain very harmonious. Very good point.

Then, some words on the true hue of the Burgundy dial.

Here is a picture to feed the discussion:

Do you see a real difference?

I had the feeling that the Burgundy of the rose gold is a tad darker, maybe slightly deeper, too. But it is very subtle.

Now, I asked to the Boutique to find me a Tribute Small Second Burgundy, to take a side by side picture:

Well, both dials are not easy to take in picture, and to get a faithful hue. BUT I would say that the steel is more " blood ", while the rose gold adds a bit of " chestnut " touch.

You can also see the different sides of these 2 cases, too.

As for the verso dial, there is not much to say, as it is the same as the one of the Rose Gold Grey or Rose Gold Blue:

The other detail of this watch which intrigued me a lot was the strap... I had the feeling it was partially made in canvas and... I was right!

This is an eye catching blend, I must say, and to tell you all, I dream of that kind of strap, in Navy Blue, for the Polaris Mariner Memovox, for example.

A few words about the movement, which is the Cal 854 A/2, which beats at 21, 600 alternances per hour and offers a power reserve of 42 hours. A manual winding movement, of course. Here is a picture:

A few last words on the availability of this watch, only through the Boutiques, and the number of watches, 190, which is a bit strange choice, as the former Blue was available in 100 pieces. 90 pieces would have been more suitable, to announce the 90th anniversary of the Reverso, in a few days to come...

Anyway, this is a very pleasant watch. I am impatient to discover what Jaeger Lecoultre will reveal, next year...

Looking forward to reading your comments and thoughts,

Best.

Nicolas

Thanks for sharing I had no clue about the movement, I thought it was the regular 822. I prefer steel for being under the radar (or platinum, this could be fun!)

I am with you on the choice of the metal, but I can't deny the RG has a lot of charm.

Thank you very much for the review, Nicolas. I tend to think that the Reverso should be worn in rg, yet this is too bold for my taste.

Smaller is better for RG, but you should see it in the flesh, it wears much smaller in real life.

Whilst I’m normally a fan of rose gold, with this dial it just doesn’t look right to me. I much prefer the look of the steel one. Also, although I like the look of the canvas strap I think the colour gives an overall look that is just “too red”. I’m old-fashioned but prefer to see Reversos on a more traditional croc/alligator/ostrich strap. R...
