The Jaeger Lecoultre Reverso Tribute Duoface Rose Gold Anthracite Dial is part of the three new Reverso introduced in the 2018 Catalog.
The least we can say is that it plays the card of elegance, with its rose gold case and its anthracite dial.It certainly is the most elegant among the three.
The case of this new Reverso is well known, since it has been used for the Reverso Tribute Calendar in 2016, which was available in rose gold only:
And for the Reverso Tribute Moon, in 2017, available in steel, only:
So the dimensions are strictly identical: 49, 7 x 29, 9 mm big, 10, 9 mm high.
As I wrote for these two former watches, the case size is big, generous, but surprisingly not too big. It sits quite well on the wrist, and despite its proportions, keeps a natural elegance. To be tried before any definitive judgement!
The rose gold case works very nicely with an anthracite dial.
Jaeger Lecoultre understood it well, as this combination is not sued for the first time.
Indeed, from past year collection, we had the trio of Rose Gold Duometres with a grey magnetite dial ( Quantième Lunaire, Chronograph and Spherotourbillon ) :
The Master Ultra Thin Moon 39:
Add the Polaris Chronograph from this year:
And it is the sixth watch in a bit more than one year coming with this chromatic combination.
Is anthracite / rose gold the new trend?
I find it more elegant in the Reverso case, I must say. It adds some preciousness, and, in the same time, gives some " cool chic " appeal to the watch.
The anthracite dial plays with the light. Sometimes, it looks slate grey, sometimes it has some brownish hue, it is quite fascinating.
The finish is sun ray. While on the verso, you have a silver hobnail and an opaline finish.
On the recto, you have the hours, minutes, and in a large round subdial, the seconds.
The carriage shows a soleillé decoration.
As for the movement, it is a manual winding one, the Cal 854/1, made of 167 parts and 19 jewels, beating at 21, 600 alternances per hour, with a power reserve of 42 hours.
The two tone strap is designed and hand made by Casa Fagliano, a bootmaker working with Jaeger Lecoultre since 2011. A very supple and comfortable strap.
This Reverso is limited to 100 pieces, as a Boutique Edition.
On a personal note, my heart is taken, this year by the Reverso Tribute Small Seconds Blue. I am more a white metal lover, and I prefer its dimensions. Still this Reverso Tribute Duoface Boutique Edition has a lot of charm.
I just hope the Manufacture will not flood the market with such a chromatic combination, but that they will reserve it to some special watches.

The anthracite color of the dial is very beautiful! And the watch is very beautiful. But maybe JLC should replace the indixes with the Arabic numerals (the bright side Reverso)? Or vice versa. On the anthracite dial - Arabic numerals, on the bright - indixes. Best, Dima.

Perhaps, but if they are gross or large in design. Arabic numerals can be given by any size, slope, volume... I would like the Reverso dials to be with different types of hour markers. In my opinion, modern designers are in a rigid structure. Designers are afraid to move away from a certain pattern.

I agree with more daring choices. But for an overall watch. For example, why not an audacious Reverso Sport?
