This year, Jaeger Lecoultre unveils two different Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon. One I already reviewed, the Enamel, which you can rediscover here:

It is a 40 mm white gold case, with a guilloché blue enameled dial AND a sub dial dedicated to the date.

The second Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon is in rose gold, with the same size, thinner, with a 10, 77 mm height, compared to the 12, 13 mm thickness of the white gold blue enameled version, which is due to the presence of the enamel dial.

The two Master Ultra Thin Tourbillons, side by side:

The Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon was first unveiled in rose gold, in 2012, then in white gold, in 2015.

If you compare the new rose gold with the 2 former models, you will see that Jaeger Lecoultre made some subtle but important aesthetic changes, on the eggshell dial.

The indices are thinner and longer. Especially those at 12 o clock, which were smaller, before. The new design is more elegant, I must say.

none

The second main change is the tourbillon gold bridge, thinner and more discreet. Such as the one of the guilloché blue enamel version.

You will have to turn the watch to notice the third change, the new " soleillé " decoration of the movement and the new rotor. Same as the movement of the Master Ultra Thin guilloché blue enamel.

The movement is almost the same than the one beating inside the Guilloché Blue Enamel, the Cal 978, with only one difference, the lack of date, of course. 48 hours power reserve, beating at the pace of 28, 800 vibrations per hour.

A last detail this version shares with the Guilloché Blue Enamel, the case, which has been slightly redesigned.

So, these two new Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon play a different card around Class: refinement at the extreme against discretion.

Once again, I must say that Jaeger Lecoultre has a superb case, with the Master Ultra Thin,  even if it is not that thin anymore. Which leads me to think that the bigger  " MUT " cases could well be the new Master case. That would be great!

Looking forward to reading your comments and thoughts,

Best.

Nicolas

i own one harmless & humble Reverso and honestly I've not given time enough to understand what JLC is, beyond the 'Reverso'... that ignorance was put to an end yesterday - Big thanks to the Mr Aurelien Robert from Geneva boutique ! Also thanks to the immense patience of Ms. Anne-Laure Dujardin - a full day manufacture visit along with my son wouldn't have been possible without her (plus she is extremely knowledgable to explain detailed complications - hard to find such talent in today's marketing world) . ...
