Vegas IGOTT II: 3 fine Chronographs from Montblanc.

Our IGOTT II gave me the opportunity to widen my view on the fine Chronographs category.

I discovered here, in the flesh, 3 great examples.

1/ The Manual Nicolas Rieussec, which has the merit to offer a nice face, including some complications which, normally, ruin the dial, such as the power reserve ( on the case back ), and the date ( on the dial side ), and which offers a nice looking movement.

I'm sincerely convinced by this Rieussec, in this manual version.

2/ The Monopusher:

I always had a soft spot for the monopusher chorongraphs, so I was quite impatient to see this one in the flesh.

Decently sized ( 39 mm ), it offers a very nice white dial, pure, charmful, retro looking but not obsolete... A marvel.

none

The monopusher at 2 o clock reminds me these old military chronos, and some modern ones, like the JLC Duometre.

And for those who doubt about Montblanc ability to make some fine chronographs, a view on the movement will definitely convince them:

none

3/ The P 10 Monopusher.

The recipe is simple: Take a larger case ( 43 mm ) housing a larger movement for the coherence of the whole watch, give it a different dial, with the same color codes, opt for a coaxial monopusher, and you will have a bomb.

The only small thing I would have preferred is to not have the P in front of the 10, but this is a detail I could live with.

As for the movement, it is a delight for the eyes:

none

This event allowed me to have some passionate discussions with some passionate people, at Montblanc, and specially 2 of them: Monique, and Florian, who are both involved in the movement part of these Montblanc watches.

Listening them speaking about the brand, their love for their work convinced me that Montblanc certainly has a great future ahead of them.

On another note, I appreciated a lot what they said about the choice to not mention " Montblanc " on the movement but on the dial, to respect the Minerva heritage.

It is honest, and respectful.

It was a pleasure to meet ths Montblanc team, and a delight to see these watches.

Thanks for this great moment.

Best.

Hhehe Vlad's secret is out! It was funny watching Nicolas laughing as he turned around and looked me while taking his pictures. I have to say it's a very ingenious setup! Cheers, Anthony

Montblanc's Dual Carbon Sport Chronograph- 1 year review

Montblanc Dual Carbon Sport Chronograph 1-Year Review by Michael Ting © May 2011 On the eve of our 10th anniversary celebration, I thought I would present a long-term 1 year review of the Montblanc Dual Carbon DLC Sport chronograph. My example is now approximately 14 months old. It is being worn in rotation with four other watches although, quite honestly, this watch has seen much more wear and tear: the Montblanc quicky became my "go to " weekend and travel watch because of its contemporary looks and versatility. The all black case is 44mm in diameter, 15.8 mm thick and weighs in at 165 grams.
