As the title suggest, I am selling a Chronoswiss 18k ALL gold Pathos. Truly an exceptional timepiece and the FIRST ever skeletonized rattrapante (split-second) automatic chronograph wristwatch made. First introduced to the public in 1998 at Basel and won the coveted Innovation award for that year!! Now discontinued since 2008, it is not a watch you will come across often to say the least. I have done the research and my Pathos in 18k is the ONLY Pathos in GOLD to have ever been listed on TZ and WN. Truly RARE, especially with the 18k ALL gold bracelet to boot. Very substantial on the wrist with INCREDIBLE presence. With the bracelet the watch weighs in at just under 210g, roughly 7 ounces of gold!!
Gerd-R. Lang, founder of Chronoswiss, is a man often credited with helping to save the Swiss watch industry. In a recent interview with The Telegraph (UK publication) he was quoted:
After all your years in the business, what has been your proudest moment?
Without a doubt, my finest hour was being granted the patent for the split-second chronograph in 1992. I had invented a brand new mechanism for a Rattrapante that has endured over time. When I created the new 2011 Rattrapante, I was able to use the same movement – after almost 20 years – that’s how good it was and is. This movement was then skeletonized BY HAND and put into a signature Chronoswiss case. The Chronoswiss Pathos was born!!

Last known retail value in 2008 was $36,700. This was when gold was selling for roughly $950-$1000/oz. Since then, gold has risen around 80% and is currently trading for around $1800/oz!! Just look at the 2011 retail price of an Opus with gold bracelet. If it was still produced today, the retail would be well over $40,000.
I am asking
$14,000 for my Pathos which represents
60% off its UNADJUSTED retail!! With today's
gold prices hovering at $1900/oz, you do the math on this piece at 7 ounces!! Price includes shipping via USPS Registered mail FULLY insured to CONUS or Canada. Would consider shipping worldwide for slightly more but would need to work out the details and liability. I could also have the watch shipped from inside the EU as well.
I would be open to selling without the gold bracelet as well. I am open to trades up, down, or straight across for the watch and/or just the bracelet. Let me know what you have.
I've been around for a long time with MANY outstanding references which I would gladly forward to interested parties.
Sorry for the poor pic quality as they were taken with an iPhone 4, I can assure you the watch is EXQUISITE in person. TRULY STUNNING and a real HEAD TURNER!!
