Description

For sale is my Patek Philippe Nautilus 5712/1A-001 in stainless steel with blue dial.

This is one of the most desirable modern Nautilus references, combining the iconic steel case and bracelet with power reserve, pointer date with moonphase, and small seconds. It is an exceptionally elegant and wearable complicated Patek Philippe and needs little introduction.

This example is one owner from new and has been in my ownership since purchase. It comes with box and papers and has been recently serviced. I also have many trading references available for the comfort of the buyer.

The watch presents very well overall. Please review the photographs carefully, as they form part of the description and show the watch clearly from multiple angles, including dial, case, bracelet, clasp, and movement.

I believe this is a very fairly priced  for a one-owner, boxed and papered, recently serviced example, and it is priced to sell sensibly rather than to sit.

📖 About This Reference

The Patek Philippe Complications Reference 5712 is a notable offering within the brand's Complications collection, distinguished by its asymmetrical dial layout and a suite of practical indications. It presents a sophisticated blend of functionality and design, offering a moon phase, power reserve indicator, and an analog date display, all arranged to create a distinctive visual identity that sets it apart from more traditional Patek Philippe designs. This particular reference features a stainless steel case measuring 40 mm in diameter, housing the self-winding caliber 240 PS IRM C LU. This movement is known for its slim profile, achieved through the integration of a micro-rotor, contributing to the watch's comfortable wearability. The watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal and offers a water resistance of 60 meters, with a power reserve of approximately 48 hours. For collectors, the 5712 represents an accessible entry into Patek Philippe's complicated timepieces, offering a range of functions without the complexity of a perpetual calendar or chronograph. Its stainless steel construction and integrated bracelet provide a robust and versatile option, appealing to those seeking a daily wearable complicated watch. The reference has been in production since 2006, with the 5712/1A denoting the stainless steel bracelet variant.

Collector Discussions

I was quite surprised when Patek included these 50th Anniversary Nautilus watches as part of its 2026 W&W presentation. I think this was a mistake and a lost opportunity.
Historically important watches receive overshadowed response due to competition. New Nautilus models eliminate date and seconds hand for clean look. Platinum model with 240 movement stands out. Diamond detailing and micro rotor add appeal. Overall, a daring tribute that deserves recognition.
