Hands on review of the Audemars Piguet [Re]Master01

Avatar

The [Re]Master01 chronograph was presented by Audemars Piguet in last year's first quarter. The purpose of the presentation was to celebrate the inauguration of the brand's brand new Musée Atelier (Museum - Workshop) in Le Brassus. The inauguration took place in light of the health crisis a few months later, but there is no doubt that the watch and the museum share the same ambition. It is not a question of looking back nostalgically to the past but of taking advantage of its roots to project itself into .....Story

Audemars Piguet: new 2020 references Code 11.59 Automatic and Chronograph

As we all know, the Code 11.59 collection has generated a great deal of comment following its presentation at SIHH 2019. A lot of water has flowed under the bridge and the situation is now much calmer. I think we need to analyze the situation from a pragmatic point of view. Even though obviously the Code 11.59 collection is not as popular as the various Royal Oak references, my sixth sense tells me that it still works better than what I've been told...Story

Hands on review of the Audemars Piguet Automatic Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin 26586IP

We could guess it, the prototype RD#2 presented during the SIHH 2018 was not going to remain without continuation and it is in all logic that the final and marketed version was presented a year later. It was certainly not a small matter because there is always a big difference between the creation of prototypes and the homogeneous production of a certain number of pieces especially when the watch we are talking about is the thinnest automatic perpetual calendar in the world . In any case, as long as the watch ... ...Story

Hands on review of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph 42mm in Titanium

The new Code 11.59 collection was under the spotlights but Audemars Piguet presented many more pieces during the last SIHH. I wanted to highlight the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph 42mm in titanium because it is different from the rest of the collection. In fact, it embodies a new stylistic approach for the Royal Oak Offshore 42mm. I consider it as a sort of "synthesis" watch...Story

Audemars Piguet Code 11.59

Friends, there has been a lot of debate and negative comments about the new Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 collection, but frankly not that many posts with a detailed look at the watch. I had the privilege to handle the 3-hander Code 11.59 in the 41mm white gold case and black lacquered dial. What is very obvious to me is that AP tried to go a different route. The watch is not really a classic dress watch nor a sports watch...Story

Just one picture: the "Karl" - Royal Oak.

Karl Lagerfeld And His Famous All Black Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Cheers, HSTE I wonder that it has not been more widely discussed yet in specialist Forums or Blogs that Karl Lagerfeld is a very long time owner of an AP Royal Oak Jumbo A-Series. First hand evidence is given by himself in an interview in the "AD - Architerctural Digest" Sept/Oct 2011, page 64-66. KL is asked, whether he has an obsession about particular design objects. His answer (losely translated from the original French interview): (...) .....Story

SIHH 2019. Audemars-Piguet Code 11.59 line. Some thoughts.

Avatar

When Audemars-Piguet unveiled the 11.59 line, some weeks ago, the least we can say is that it received a cold welcome. I for one don't think it is justified. And I suggest we reconsider our feelings about it. First of all, the 11.59 is not one watch, or two, but a whole line of 6 watches: Time Only, Chronograph, Perpetual Calendar, manual winding Tourbillon Openworked, Flying Tourbillon Automatic and Minute Repeater...Story

Hands on review of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore "Ghost" 26470IO

I wanted to come back to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore "Ghost" which I particularly appreciate... And as you understood it, I finally decided to buy it! Let's be clear: it does not revolutionize this collection but it has enough interesting details to distinguish itself from other models. The first element that strikes the mind is its chromatic approach, resolutely monochrome. This atmosphere all in shades of gray can't be more seductive and refined...Story

My view on the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore 50th Anniversary Byblos

Avatar
foversta
I have to warn you about something: Summer is getting closer (and so think about your shape!). But why did I guess this? Simply because Audemars Piguet has just released two watches (one for men, one for ladies) in a context of a limited edition which celebates the 50th anniversary of the famous Byblos Palace Hotel in Saint-Tropez. So the conclusion is easy: the watches are perfect for spending nice holidays under the hot sun of the South of France. To be honest with you, I will not write a large novel about .....Story
