I have the dato perpetual. I wanted the double split but too thick. So I have the journe rattrapante instead. Much thinner

I was under the impression that at least one person here was going to buy one but I don't think I've seen any.
I had one coming but after trying it on decided to pass unfortunately.
Amazing movement but ergonomically challenged.

Is there a reason why these large (and sporty) watches aren't made in steel?...

I make that argument because it is used to time events...races, etc.
A gentleman's sport watch certainly. As apart from a tool watch (diving, etc.). And why not steel???
