It's a cool little set of wheels but I have always been suspect of pop up headlights. I've seen too many Pontiac Fieros with one light up and one down like they are winking at oncoming traffic.

It really does. It’s surprising how long some of the cottage sports car manufacturers persevered - AC being a case in point. The X1/9 could have been one of the e first cars I would be driven on - my dad wanted to get one for my mum but she refused, since...

I actually tried to buy one back in the day, it wasn't yellow like this one but a more subtle gun metal grey but couldn't agree on price. Looking back at it I think I dodged a bullet as nice as they looked they actually weren't that fast for a small fibre...
