The orange accent transforms the dial, and the finishing on Blancpain’s modern pieces is superb

The magic on this one is that they didn’t go for faux-patina to make it look vintage. They just made a modernized version of the original. It’s cool without trying too hard.

The date at 4:30 is controversial. I personally don’t mind it, especially on this model. It tends to disappear unless you’re looking for it, and it keeps the symmetry of the markers. The no-date Hodinkee version is a great piece as well!

This is a great version of the classic FF and I specially love the smaller case size which relates better with the original versions of the 1950/60’s I feel. I adore and enjoy mine so much and I wish you will keep enjoying and loving yours so much and in ...  

How long have you had it? It’s gotten a lot of use since I acquired it. Such an easy wear.

But that’s by aesthetic choice. There are still high-level finishes worthy of seeing here. The 18k gold rotor itself has 3 finishes applied, and has a nickel-anthracite-platinum-based coating to achieve the darker look. Striping, solarization, and other h...
