Some great pictures there, thanks! It will be option 3 - I probably made it seem more bothersome than it is. I rotate my watches regularly too, so practically speaking this won't be a problem. It's just a tad frustrating knowing that I've been a bit unlucky in that most hi-beats will be much better than mine (and that my 28k beat Rolexes are all much better too!).

Accuracy
I forget exactly what the timing sheet says, but I believe it's +5/-3 static , but, crucially, +8/-1 (might even be +10?) when worn . So effectively worse than COSC standards in actual use.
Stated specs and what it measures when worn, are often quite a bit different when it comes to Seikos.
In nearly all cases, your Seiko (whichever model/line) will have a better accuracy than the specs say it should. As you can see from your own, it can be +8, but yours is just a bit over the static number.
COSC
I believe COSC testing is done on the movement, out of the case, in a number of (static) positions. Most manufacturers don't specify "when worn" numbers though, unlike GS, so people tend to assume the watch should perform to COSC specs then also, which is...
Paper specs
My GS high best keeps a steady +1 and either gains or loses based on what position it\'s left over night. Their paper specs are way off.

On your wrist it looks perfectly at home too! You might try passing the watch over a degausser and retiming, more often than not I have see positive results
Magnetisation
Thanks, I actually already did (probably should have mentioned that), but it made no difference sadly. It's a consistent +5.5, so just needs regulating (but they won't do it for free as it's within spec). I might have a polite word with the Seiko UK servi...
Leave it in different positions overnight, and see if you can find one which negates the offset whilst worn.
Hopefully you’ll be able to average out to within a second or so.

Yes thanks, done that but it's consistent crown up or down, dial up or down. Good in a way of course, but does mean regulation is only real fix.

OPTION ONE: Since this is a GMT you must consider that the red hand is keeping time in one time zone, and the silver hour hand is tracking your local time zone. Thus the 5.5 seconds off perfect should be split across the two zones, giving you only +2.75 o...
