The Devon has a ticking character, not a tic toc of a watch, but the click of a wheel
It is audible from beyond an arm's length, and gives this watch its unique character.
However, this can be switched off by one push on the crown to deactivate the seconds wheel. It is only sleeping, and will pick up again on another push.
What continues is the hours and minutes, and each change of either will produce both a single tick, and a whirring rush of the belts. If both hour and a minute are changing, the sight and sound is quite something.
Certainly I see it as a plus point if the wearer is a person who enjoys breaking the ice in a silent place.
Not for the faint hearted or withdrawn.

My particular Hermes strap
Was made because Hermes was one of our business involvments. It had little to do with the store. But I think if you know a Hermes workman, it will be smooth.
Perhaps the Tread 2 will sell better. I think that,,,,
the Tread 1 in normal mode is too loud for a quiet setting.
Mine is OK with the seconds in still mode.
I like the occasional loud whirr click of the treads..it needs the Hermes cdc for me. My wrists are small.

Pretty interesting that Robinson's Singapore
