It's a cool little set of wheels but I have always been suspect of pop up headlights. I've seen too many Pontiac Fieros with one light up and one down like they are winking at oncoming traffic.

It really does. It’s surprising how long some of the cottage sports car manufacturers persevered - AC being a case in point.
The X1/9 could have been one of the e first cars I would be driven on - my dad wanted to get one for my mum but she refused, since the peak didn’t fit 😂🤷🏻♂️
The X1/9 was something. A lot of fun, not very powerful, but, wow that was a cool one.
Never seen this before. I like the slot mag wheels. Reminds me of a number of cars. Must have raided the TVR used parts bin too!
Great little car from AC but an AC Cobra it wasn't.
I actually tried to buy one back in the day, it wasn't yellow like this one but a more subtle gun metal grey but couldn't agree on price. Looking back at it I think I dodged a bullet as nice as they looked they actually weren't that fast for a small fibreglass body sports car and lets just say they wouldn't win any reliability awards either. They were however a great looking car at the time IMHO.

True about the Fiat X1/9, also has a Triumph TR7 flair. Interesting one never seen before
