this moser watch is my first enamelled dial watch, having never handle one personally, i can only appreciate the difficulty of making them technically, or maybe not ? but the beauty of it is a wonderful delight which i found out accidently, so i wish to share this with anyone who has never handled one, the beauty is best appreciated when worn tilting at an angle under warm indirect sun. enuf intro, my tale :

incidently, as i was having coffee at starbucks yesterday, alfresco, under the indirect warm sunlight, i only fully appreciate the beauty of a enamelled dial. the dial reflects like a calm lake reflection when it is tilted, creamy white reflective surface miniscussed with the sub-dial for seconds, with one facade of the leaf hands reflecting a tinge of champagne gold and the other white, the applied markers raised to the occasion, only then did i realise the purpose of contrast between the applied and printed markers, it would have been too much if all markers are applied. its like a revelation of this beauty. i went for a classic watch but am overjoyed by the details of simplicity.

You  can't do that, it's winter here :-) And even considering it's not really a winter like it used to be it's still  far away from indirect warm sunlight .

I  agree  about the (almost refreshing) simplicity  but also   movement wise very  interesting as well.
Re.the dial, are you  sure it's in  fact true  fired emaille? Not that it would take away from  the simple beauty, but if it's indeed fired enamel I'd be curious how they  achieved the subdial outer circumference silvery shiny part.

Congrats again and please share some more thoughts (and maybe pictures) after some more ownership experience - I'd specifically interested in movement  performance.

the winter in hong kong is like spring over at where u are.

i have run down the 70hrs power reserve of  the watch which it claims, sychronised with my cell phone, it is accurate to the minute and it is still beating strong.
 
will update with my field report as i see more light on this special watch for me.

I was told that the white dial/WG comes in enamel or lacquer dial. The enamel dial is limited to 50 pieces and cost a lot more than the lacquer dial...I have seen one in AD and initiallly we thought that's the enamel dial but later she confirms that that's the lacquer one...

however thats what i have been told when i was at my AD. the sales person even showed me the catalog which states that the WG is matched with an enamel dial, if i do not remember wrongly. after u asked , i also recalled reading somewhere that moser did a RG black dial model in limited edition. it doesnt make sense anymore if the regular model also comes with an enamel dial unless the black enamel is the unique feature of the limited edition, after u promted. but i will ask the AD for the catalog again for curiousity sake though it wont affect my appreciation of this piece. anyway thanks for the heads up.

The catalogue does not state the lacquer dial nor the limited edition of the white or black enamel dial. What prompted me was after i browse thru the Wrist watch journal and it did state that the white enamel comes in 50 piece limited edition only... I called up my AD and she confirms that there are 2 version, the regular lacquer and the limited edition enamel version....

The Mayu is a beautiful watch and i would love to have it in my collection. But sometimes my only problem is i cant keep the watch for a long time. i may sell it few months down the road.

May i know where does the Moser mayu stand in terms of resale value..

Well, Moser is relatively unknown in the market, at least for now and only known to watch afficionados. Resale value is alot depend on market demand and brand recognition. Thus i would see the resale value would not be good as least for now. However,  if the brand is to gain more recognition among mass public like JLC or Lange, i would see the resale value to be better....

My advice is to keep the watch.. The design is classic and timeless and i pretty sure you wont get bored with it, the movement and the finishing is superb! definitely a keeper... just my 2 cents worth

Dear Pals, I could not resist the charm and beauty of the Mayu yesterday whilst paying a visit to a local AD. At the end, i succumbed to that temptation; to take her home! Immediately after i took possession of the Mayu, one couple from Singapore turned up wanting to acquire the white Mayu! Phew, it was my day!

can u ask yr AD if the white dial in regular production is a lacquered or enamel dial ? cos my AD just showed me the catalod and insist it is enamelled for curiousity sake.

Well, I just bought Mayu platinum, black dial. Beautiful piece of hand work... I had a discussion with the Meister in Moser factory - as I have decided to create complete set of Moser watches and he explained me, that the limited edition (50 pcs) Mayu/whiteG/enamel dial is not yet in distribution.. In fact I was told that even my platinum piece is on of the first sold. So sorry, no enamel in your case...
