Horological Meandering

Hi guys...well i've been contemplating since before Basel and SIHH. Now that all show is over and watches uncovered, i recently settle with this one. It is my first huge watch. Also, must take this chance to say thanks to TM and all moderators,esp PeterCDE and SJX for the detailed reports of this year's novelties. This is just a great place to be! I think i spent almost 50% of my time everyday lurking here and post a little bit here and there

A little bit about this watch,well i see it as a closest comparo to PAM 217. After trying out a couple of times, this one actually sits better on my wrist and i thought i prefer the carbon/pink gold contrast not to mention its very nice and big sapphire. Pretty unique to certain extent. One must really wear it to admire its detail ie the bezel, the tang buckle and the dlc finish etc. Just my 2c.

The front is distinctive enough but the case back is like nothing I've ever seen.

 

Once u go big, u can't go back!


I just love the "DO NOT UNSCREW" inscription on the caseback.  It goes against man's instinctive behavior.

I also  picked up a Bell & Ross last friday from my AD here in los angeles.  I was going to place an order for the new phantom since he had one more allocation but trying on a 46mm is way too big on my small wrist.  My AD had just got in a BR-03 in PVD and I fell in love with it right away.  After taking home and wearing it for about 4 hours the chrono function didn't work and locked up the entire mechanism.  It would only run the chrono for 36 seconds and then stop.  I kept restarting it for a few hours and then gave up.  Went back the next day and they called the rep for B&R and they are supposed to send a new replacement on monday.  The watch itself looks incredible and they did a good job but the velcro strap looks cheap IMHO.  Interesting fact is that my AD moves alot of B&R's and this is the first return as he is happy with the line.  I'm going to post when I get the replacement and let you guys know what happens.  Anyway, I am glad you are enjoying yours, wear it in the best of health!

I really hope you enjoy the watch.  They watch really grows on you.  My AD here in Glendale, California is really great.  One of the reasons why AD's are the way to go:   They called the rep on a saturday and shipped out a replacement right away.  I should get the watch no later than thursday.  I will be leaving for hawaii on friday so I will post pics as soon as possible.  Once again enjoy the BR-03!!!!!

After losing some sleep, you know this is YOUR watch. I too was looking at this BR but at 46mm it's too big. I'd probably go for the 42mm version in PVD : )

...but mind you, dont regret for getting a smaller ones later. Had a friend who is in the same position like you, end up bought another BR01 Of course everyone is different! Share with us when you get it!

It did take me sometime to settle with this. First i wasnt a very big fan for bigger size watch and as the classic sucker like me, i am sure many of my friends are surprise that i added this to my small collection.

It is purely a passion thing, i saw it last two years in the launching of BR01 here and didnt immediately like it until recently i thought i might wanna get a big watch to suit my everyday style and this watch does exactly what i want! And the fact that its much more affordable then Panerai 217, which i consider side by side with this BR01, helps in my decision as well. Overall, i prefer the look and feel of this one better. And i really love the pink gold and carbon combination, as much as i love the Offshore RubberClad in rose gold Too bad that price range is too high for me.

And i am very happy with this watch, feels good, looks good and damn clear! Thanks for looking.

I've replied to your thread above with 2 photos and some short comment, hope it helps And if i may say it again, dont settle with a 03 and regret later that you didnt get the 01 like what my friend did, end up buying both! LOL....seriously although it is 46mm, it sits very well because its slim and flat plus the lugs are very short thus it lays comfortably on my 6.5 wrist. I never thought i could carry one but trying it proves me wrong
