Girard-Perregaux Vintage 45, 2595, the original limited edition from 1995

Feb 07, 2018,06:35 AM

Friends,

just a few quick shots as it is still fresh in.

To me, the Vintage 45 line today is one of the most iconic GP signature lines, even of course the Laureato took lots of attention the last couple of years and the 1966 line is equally iconic.

But the Vintage 45 stands out, not only by its rectangular case (I like square watches) and its curves, but foremost by its history.

I will come back with more details in due course, but so much for now, the original "vintage" release (named initially "Vintage 1995") was released as a Limited Edition in precious metals only in 1995 with manual wind movement. The design was closely based on a model from 1945, which came in to GP for a vintage service and caught the attention of the product design team and the rest is history.

It's a very important piece for me to have in a GP collection and I finally found the version I wanted, pink or yellow solid gold with black dial.

Best,

CC

Oh, don't sell your YG 2594, it's pure class. Give me a bit of time and I will prepare a more detailed review with lots of photos (including the very nice engraved caseback) and with lots more information. Best, CC
