Incoming! Grand Seiko Quartz (SBGX063)
The GS addiction has bitten hard ... but I'm done now, I hope. I never thought I'd spend this much money on a quartz watch, but now I have, it feels like amazing value, and completes my GS trio of spring drive, hi-beat and high accuracy quartz movement watches.
The SBGX063 could be the perfect dress watch for me. Conservative in design, but with that spectacular dial, which ranges in colour from silver to gold with different lighting. 37mm is an ideal size for a dress watch for my seven and a third inch wrist also. Being quartz it's also nice and thin and sits very well on my wrist, sliding easily under any shirt cuff.
As ever with Grand Seiko, finishing and build quality is spectacular ... I couldn't be happier with my choice. My collection is now "done", although I've said that before!

I know what you mean. I much prefer bracelets to straps though personally. But certainly a Credor one day isn't out of the question. Right now I feel I'd much prefer one to a Calatrava!
Your Pictures Show That Dial Better Than Any Others I've Seen
Here's the lady who makes them for us:
The spinning wheel to her left touching a pool of soapy water is where she presses the dial blanks to create those patterns.
The wheel is a pair of aluminum plates which sandwich a brass brush.
Every hour or two she swaps the plates for a smaller pair, as the bristles shrink (wear off)
I think she goes through a brush every day or two.
You can see the fine lines radiating out from the center

Congratulations on your latest addition! GS quartz watches - as you say - offer an excellent size, are nicely thin, finished like the mechanicals and atom clock accurate
