A watch which intrigued me a lot, in the early 2000's. I passed, because of the date. Just because of this damn date.

A colleague in the office had gotten one as a wedding present and I was mesmerized by the crown and streamlined cyclops. On the positive side they are generally affordable and there are quite a lot of different versions available to find one to your liking.
I agree, there is something attractive in this unusual design! I prefer the Roadster S (with the black dial surround), more sporty looks and the date is better integrated in my opinion. Best, E.

I remember when this watch came out.
I’ve always liked the design but many didn’t know how to categorize it. I don’t see many of these around. I still like it the design though.
There is a lot to like about Cartier — but this one not so much for me — never liked the crown, the date, or the cyclops.
I totally understand. That must not be a consensual watch. Maybe not Cartier enough for Cartier lovers?

The Roadster is an interresting one,
I like many aspects of the design but I think I would need to see it on my wrist to find out if it truly "works" for me. There are some designs I like in pictures but don't fall in love with in real life like the Pasha. With the 90s Breitling Chronomat it was the other way round - I always hated it on pictures and thought it was too flashy and gaudy but I actually loved it the first second I ever had one on my wrist, a keeper for sure.
You are totally right. Like each watch. The wrist test is and has to be the final test.

After about 20 years of owning it, I recognized it was getting very limited wrist time, especially in those last several years. I do miss it at times.
