Most experts agree that GM was about the worst owner Saab could get. On the other hand a lot of Swedes was skeptical when Geelay (China) bought Volvo. However they knew how to get the best out for themselves as a smart investment and at the same time supp... 

Looking back many years one thing (among many) that Volvo did right was focusing on Estate Cars. (One reason is that Sweden is the country were most people vs population has a summer house) Volvo was ahead of their main competitors such as BMW, MB & Audi ...

Great design, great technology and quality throughout. My family have all been driving SAABs at some point. I even had a 96 in my youth.
