My First Grand Seiko - had to be the Snowflake!

BlueIn2Red
I'm very proud to have acquired my first GS, the amazing Snowflake (SBGA011). It might not be the most exciting watch in the world design wise, but the dial is as amazing as they say, as is the overall finishing and build quality. I was a bit concerned how I'd feel about the titanium (very light weight), but actually I quite enjoy the difference it offers compared to my other watches (plus the added comfort), and knowing that the quality is fantastic, even if others might not think that when they hold the watch!

The completely smooth movement of the second hand due to the spring drive movement is quite mesmerising, I couldn't be happier to have such a unique piece in my collection. I also really enjoy having a "holes case" again, for ease of strap changing - I like the bracelet, but think the blue ostrich I have works nicely for a different look as well.

(Apologies for the picture overload - the macros didn't come out great, but might still be of interest for the dial detail especially.)

Your macro shots are stunning Andy. All these details and this dial. Whaouuuu. The finish level is really impressive I would like to see one in real, one day, to judge by myself how much this brand/watch is desirable. Best wishes Alkiro

I think the macro shots are excellent and as for the watch itself, mine is from an early batch and it's still one of my Favorite Watches of All Time. Cazalea ...

The King Seiko 5245-6000 - some more details

KMII

I got the 5245-6000 some two months ago as my first vintage Seiko. In addition it has been my first King Seiko and my second Special (got the Grand Seiko SBGH035 first) Now two months and a macro lens later, here are some more shots and impressions. The watch works well with a slightly more formal attire - say business casual for instance. The dimensions are pretty good for wearing with a shirt, with both the 35mm case size and the relatively thin case easily slipping under the cuff when required.
