Jay (Eire)'s post offers a glimpse into the daily life of a luxury watch collector, highlighting the subtle yet significant impact of strap choices on a timepiece's aesthetic. His reflections on the A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1, particularly its dial and the evolving appreciation for Roman numerals, provide valuable insights into the personal journey of watch collecting. This thread underscores how even minor adjustments can refresh the perception of a cherished watch.

The falling leaves reminded me of a similar picture I took in Oct! Here winter comes much early!
In the first instance it was (is) an astronomically expensive watch by any standards. (Unless of course you are comparing it to the price of a steel sports watch theses days). Second, it wasn’t until more recently that I began to appreciate a dial like this. I think I posted before my general dislike for romans and the fact that I now own a couple of watches with romans.
Working with JR at the moment 😊
