I am blessed with the good fortune of adding a new A. Lange & Söhne to my collection. I am torn between the Zeitwerk (140.029) and the 1815 Chronograph (414.028).

I would ultimately like to add both references to my small collection, but can only add one at this time. I would greatly appreciate hearing from owners of one or both watches about their experience and likes/dislikes about each reference. There are various reviews about readability, wearability etc., but I’d like to hear insight from owners with real world wrist time.

I currently own a Grand Lange 1 (117.028), 1815 Up/Down (234.032), Lange 1 (101.032) and a Richard Lange (232.021). I have them pictured below in this order.

Thanks in advance.

About the A. Lange and Söhne Lange 1 18kt Rose Gold Ref. 101.032

Reference 101.032 presents the Lange 1 in its most classically elegant precious-metal configuration: 18kt rose gold with a silver dial. If the Lange 1 is A. Lange & Söhne's signature statement to the world, this particular variant is its most versatile ambassador. The silver dial has a luminous, almost liquid quality under natural light, and the rose gold case and hands bring just enough warmth to prevent the overall impression from feeling clinical. It is a combination that works in every context, from the boardroom to the black-tie gala.

The manually wound caliber L901.0 within the 38.5mm case has proven itself over three decades as one of the most reliable and beautifully finished movements in production. Its twin mainspring barrels provide 72 hours of autonomy, and the trademark outsize date -- powered by a patented mechanism using two concentric discs -- switches instantaneously at midnight. The power reserve indication at roughly four o'clock gives the owner a constant visual reminder of remaining energy, a practical complication that underscores A. Lange & Söhne's belief that a fine watch must be useful as well as beautiful.

The rose gold Lange 1 with silver dial occupies a sweet spot that explains its enduring popularity among seasoned collectors. It possesses the warmth absent from white gold and platinum variants while avoiding the more traditional connotations of yellow gold. For many, the 101.032 represents the ideal entry into the world of A. Lange & Söhne -- a watch that introduces the manufacture's design language, finishing standards, and mechanical philosophy in a single, perfectly proportioned package.

To make your Lange collection more rounded and complete I’d suggest to switch the Darth for a Datograph. Exit.

I own one Lange, the 1815 Chrono, which is a recent acquisition and a spectacular piece. Among its great qualities, I find the pushers are the best I’ve ever experienced. But candidly I did initially gravitate to the Zeitwerk. I would just recommend that you try it on and see if it feels okay on your wrist. On my wrist it sat a bit too tall and felt just a little too awkward when I turned my wrist. So ultimately I decided on the 1815 Chrono. No regrets, though. As I said, the chronograph is spec

If you didn't already have the 1815 Up/Down, I'd say Chrono. But adding the Zeitwerk to your current line up really makes your collection come full circle. Congrats on the difficult decision, btw.

I will suggest to add the Zeitwerk as it is an incredible model & unique in High Horology. And maybe think later to switch your 1815 up & down for the 1815 chronograph (calibre & soft chrono pushers). Whatever your decision, congratulations ++++

Between the two, it will round out your collection a little better. And agree with comments above, make sure you've tried on and it's to your taste with regards to "wearablity"
