Nicolas, known as amanico on WatchProSite, presents a compelling dilemma for collectors: choosing between two exquisite dials for the Arnold & Son Luna Magna. His original post highlights the unique aesthetic and functional differences between the aventurine and meteorite options, particularly focusing on the luminous moon phase. This article delves into the community's perspective on these distinct interpretations of celestial horology.

Platinum with Aventurine Dial:

Watch by AHCI and independent haute horlogerie, Arnold & Son, Luna Magna

Or Platinum with Meteorite dial?

I have, for one, a preference for aventurine over meteorite... BUT give me a white meteorite and I would favor the meteorite.

Now, the big advantage of the meteorite is that:

Which the aventurine doesn't have.

This Arnold and Son is one of the few watches which I would gladly add in my collection. I shortened my list to 15 watches, and it is very high...

Best,

Nicolas

Unsurprisingly, I would go for the meteorite dial! 😍🀌

Only, this is far more compelling in terms of high horology!....

version also has the lume on the dial and the moon. What am I missing?

looks more realistic day or night. What is the advantage of the meteorite? Good luck to your hunt, Nicolas.

but having a luminous moon seems very appropriate. And white meteorite gives the watch a sidereal touch, whereas the aventurine evokes the starry night in what could be considered as a little more conventional way.
