I have always loved AP and have owned a couple of ROOs Chrono in the past, but ended up selling both due to wearability issues. Although I love the watch, I simply accepted that it's not for me.

It was in a time when I was really a sort of 1 watch man, and definitely the ROO wasn't a one and only watch for me.

I had in my plans to add an AP to the stable one day, but was thinking more in a 39mm RO, such as the 15202 or maybe a ROC.

And a few days ago, in a sunny and relatively warm day, I started thinking about what to wear next summer during my holidays (you know what I mean, watch nerds' thoughts πŸ˜‰).

Last summer I really enjoyed my Patek 5164A, taking her out to the pool and the beach, and also interacting with its travel time function, which is always a pleasure.

But the 5164 has become my favorite everyday watch, comfortable and versatile, perfect for my daily lifestyle. So I thought I might need something different for swimming and resting under the sun (hopefully).

I have other watches, but none ticks all the boxes. So I started having a look at the options. Not many to be honest considering my personal requirements and constraints, so the ROO came again to my mind.

After some online search, I found that I dealer friend had a few ROOs Chrono in stock, so I decided to pay him a visit with not many expectations. After trying on the different options available, I wasn't convinced at all.

But then my friend suggested me to try the Diver, which never really sang to me. And you know what? I found my new summer watch! 😊

About the Audemars Piguet Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15202 YG Ref. 15202

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak "Jumbo" ref. 15202 is a significant reference within the Royal Oak collection, known for its close adherence to the original 1972 design. It maintains the distinctive slim profile and integrated bracelet that defined the initial Royal Oak, distinguishing it from other Royal Oak models that introduced different sizes or complications. This reference is particularly valued for its historical continuity and minimalist approach to the Royal Oak aesthetic.

This reference features a 39mm case, typically crafted from yellow gold, with a thickness of 8.1mm. It is fitted with a sapphire crystal and offers a water resistance of 50 meters. Powering the watch is the self-winding Caliber 2121, a movement known for its slimness and a power reserve of approximately 40 hours. The dial is presented in blue, complementing the yellow gold case and bracelet.

For collectors, the 15202 represents a direct link to the Royal Oak's origins, appealing to those who prioritize historical accuracy and understated design. Its production run from 2012 to 2019 makes it a sought-after reference among enthusiasts of the "Jumbo" lineage. The combination of its classic dimensions, integrated bracelet, and the Caliber 2121 solidifies its position as a key reference in the Audemars Piguet catalog.

Actually I'm planning something already. I'm not a big fan of the wide straight strap, so considering to "customize" my Diver with the tapered version of the Chrono. Perfect excuse to find some nice combos πŸ‘πŸ»

To be honest, I think it's a tad too big for my wrist and taste, so definitely not an everyday watch for me. But perfect for summer casual relaxed mode (I hope πŸ˜…).
