Emmanuel (quattro) introduces the Bovet Récital 32, a limited-edition titanium timepiece that sparks a lively debate on contemporary watch design. His initial impressions and questions about the openwork dial invite readers to consider the balance between intricate mechanics and legibility. This discussion is particularly relevant for collectors evaluating Bovet's evolving aesthetic and the broader trends in high-end independent watchmaking.

What a dial and movement, how much does this goes these days? Nice one though 👍🏻
it's a flaw that I consider (maybe wrongly of course) more or less inherent to the openwork aesthetic, which almost always relegates the time display to secondary importance. There are exceptions, of course, and some executions are better than others, but I personally prefer a solid dial centered on the time display. That said, I realize you might simply mean that the small dial contains too much information. Let me know. Best, Emmanuel
Infact, my first instinct was there was too little and it was too simple lol like it needs more handicrafts!
and you think more handicrafts are needed! This is a great example of the diversity of our expectations and impressions! Maybe you will feel fulfilled when seeing the watch in person. Best, Emmanuel
Nice movement architecture. Super cool crystal. Nice colors.
so I’m glad you like it, even if it’s not my personal kind of watch! Best, Emmanuel
