Alfihar, a respected voice in the WatchProSite community, presents the third iteration of his comprehensive study on the Breguet Type XX - Marine Nationale - Aéronautique Navale. This updated booklet, released in honor of Nicolas' birthday, represents decades of dedicated research and aims to be the definitive resource for collectors and enthusiasts of this iconic military chronograph. Alfihar's work not only compiles existing knowledge but also meticulously analyzes characteristics and provides a census of known examples, making it an invaluable contribution to horological scholarship.

Dear Purists,

For Nicolas’ birthday, here is the third enhanced version of the booklet dedicated to the Breguet Type XX - Marine Nationale – Aéronautique Navale, initially published on November 9 and updated on November 26.

In the first version, we gathered and compiled all the information accumulated over decades of study and research on this watch.

We also sought to understand and define its characteristics, and to present all the data in our possession, along with a census of known examples, in the form of a comprehensive study.

Here is the new version, which includes all new photographs including some about the 250th anniversary, new analyses, and the  optimized PDF booklet   that can be downloaded and printed.

The first version corresponded, following military incremental nomenclature, to the Type I

This new release is the Type III of the booklet  (There will probably be a Type IV on February after our upcoming meeting with Mr. Emmanuel Breguet, Vice President at Breguet and Head of Patrimony).

Given the volume of information, we are sharing it as a booklet through an external link:

The light and HD versions are PDF files with a table of contents / Adobe bookmarks, making it easy to navigate between sections, to locate each Marine Nationale number in the census, and to move from one part or subsection to another.

Like the first booklet, this new version is naturally intended to evolve as new discoveries and information come to light.

For this reason, certain entries remain highlighted in yellow, as the figures may vary slightly with new additions or corrections resulting from further examples reported to us or other findings.

If anyone would like their “Breguet Type XX – Marine Nationale – Aéronautique Navale” watch to be included in this inventory, simply send us good-quality photos via private message (a clearly readable dial, caseback, movement, and the watch either on the wrist or photographed as you prefer).

We will be pleased to add it in the next update of the booklet.

We hope you will enjoy this new opus.

Once again, our heartfelt thanks go to all those who have helped us, especially Watchistry, Antoine de Macedo, 4C Watches, Joël Pynson (Time To Tell), toiche…

A very special thank you to Alex, known on Instagram as Watchoniste, a passionate watch enthusiast and accomplished graphic designer, who kindly worked for free on the creation of the new cover.. Feel free to contact him if you would like him to turn your favourite watch into a personalized graphic artwork.

Best regards,

Nicolas and Olivier — Brothers in arms

There aren't many new features, but: - The presentation of the census has changed to allow for better visualization on two pages (work on the layouts for a printable version... unfortunately, this generates a few blank pages); - Work has been done on the bookmarks to improve navigation in the PDF; - The quality of some photos has been improved and we have found new ones; - Several casebacks have been found and included in the study on FGs; - Typing errors (Serials, etc.) have been corrected; - T
