SJX provides an in-depth look at the Cartier Ballon Bleu tourbillon with dual time zone jump hour, a highlight from SIHH 2013. He focuses on the intricate movement, showcasing detailed photos of the open dial that reveal the double jump hour mechanisms and the exceptional finishing, including the updated Geneva Seal.
For the first post of the new year, what better than more details on one of the new watches to be launched at SIHH 2013. Cartier just released movement photos of the Ballon Bleu tourbillon with double jumping second time zone, which is, in my opinion, the most interesting of the watches shown as part of the SIHH 2013 preview.
The view from the back...

And from the front.

Up close

As I wrote in my post on the watch, the open dial reveals the double jump hour mechanisms, levers and racks and springs. More importantly it shows of the excellent standard of finishing - the watch has the updated Geneva Seal - notice especially the tightly yet evenly spaced perlage.

I hope Cartier someday makes larger movements for these large cases. It would make the dial look more balanced IMO. Cheers, Anthony
