I was at the new Cartier boutique at Singapore's Marina Bay Sands resort and casino yesterday - the day it opened - to check it out. It is a well positioned two level store facing an open atrium, with its neighbours being Hermes and Louis Vuitton.

Inside it is open and airy with a soothing palette of colours. Like the Cartier boutique at ION Orchard , leather goods, watches and jewellery are located on the first level, while the second level showcases higher-end items.

The interior is notable for the Fine Watchmaking salon on the second level, making this only the second Cartier store in the world to have a salon like that. Each area is designed to suit the product, so the Fine Watchmaking salon is decorated in serious chocolate leather and matte brass.

Below: Fine Watchmaking Salon

The adjacent wedding salon on the other hand is white and frilly, perhaps to offer an uplifting spirit in a time of distress.

This is a dramatised customer experience at the Cartier Marina Bay Sands boutique. Any resemblance to persons living is intentional. There is no resemblance to persons dead. No sales assistants were harmed in the production of this drama. ENTER CARTIER BOUTIQUE CUSTOMER strolls into the ground level fo the Cartier boutique. CUSTOMER: Oh look there is the watch section! I must take a closer look. CUSTOMER makes several circles around watch display. CUSTOMER: Hmmmmm......... CUSTOMER stops and pee

is amazing. Right down to the carpets! Again, very well done, classy, extremely tasteful but not over the top. The diamond encrusted RG Santos 100 looks great but I do like the owner of the wrist better I must say. The RG Calibre also feels very nice and if there ever was a most comfortable watch award, it has to go to the calibre. The jump hour.. what can I say.... fantastic! It would be have been nice if the Cartier moderator here did reviews of the calibre as well as little insights on Cartie

Now is it just me or is Cartier seemingly head and shoulders above all the other watch brands in pulling out all the stops in presentation? The attention to detail is stunning and the play with the heritage classy without being too overbearing. And am only referring here to the boutique too! Thanks for sharing this and it does go to show that with CK in charge, the future for Cartier looks bright indeed!! Looking forward to visiting soon...
