WHL presents a personal appreciation for the Cartier Tank, positioning it as a horological icon alongside other industry milestones. He delves into the various Tank collections, focusing on the Louis Cartier line and sharing his insights on two specific models: the Extra-large ref. W1560003 and the Extra-flat ref. W1560017.

The Cartier Tank Louis Cartier Extra-large, reference W1560003, is a notable model within the esteemed Tank collection, representing a contemporary interpretation of the classic Louis Cartier design. It integrates modern proportions with traditional Cartier aesthetic codes, appealing to collectors seeking a larger, yet refined, dress watch.
This model features a rose gold case measuring 39 mm x 30 mm with a slim 8.3 mm thickness. It is powered by the manual winding caliber 9753 MC, which is derived from the Piaget 430P ebauche. The movement is visible through a sapphire crystal case back. The dial incorporates Roman numerals, blued steel hands, a secret Cartier signature at VII, and a textured sunburst pattern, complemented by a date aperture and power reserve indicator.
The W1560003 offers a blend of Cartier's design heritage with practical complications and a visible movement. Its larger size and manual winding caliber make it a distinctive choice within the Louis Cartier line, providing a comfortable fit under a shirt cuff while maintaining a strong wrist presence.
